Submission information

How to make a submission on a publicly-notified Resource Consent

If you wish to make a submission on a resource consent application which has been publicly notified, read the requirements to submit a resource consent submission form.

How to make a submission on a consultation

While most Council consultations will have a specific form to use when making a submission, in most instances you may instead download the generic form with instructions (PDF @ 73KB) or use blank paper. Be sure to include:

  • the name of the topic (usually a policy or bylaw)
  • whether you wish to speak on your submission at a hearing (available in most consultations)
  • whether, if others make a similar submission, you would be willing to present a joint case at a hearing
  • whether you are supporting or opposing the topic (either wholly or in part)
  • the nature of your submission
  • your reasons
  • what relief you are seeking
  • and contact details.

Further information and forms are available from Council offices at Civic House.
