Bells Island Pipeline Upgrade
Submissions welcome through 27 February
The Nelson Regional Sewerage Business Unit (NRSBU) has prepared a regional pipeline upgrade strategy for the Bells Island Wastewater Scheme. The risk of pipeline failure is considered extremely serious.
The NRSBU is seeking to take urgent action. Upgrade options are being suggested for public feedback.

Heart of Nelson Strategy
Submissions welcome until 3 February
The draft Strategy is now available for review. Submissions are invited from the public on 89 improvements for the city, both small and large.

Draft Nelson Tasman Regional Arts Strategy
Submissions welcome until 16 January 2009
Nelson City and Tasman District Councils have been working with the Nelson Regional Economic Development Agency on the draft Regional Arts Strategy to enhance the arts across the region. The strategy aims to increase access to and participation in the arts for everyone in the region, as well as to develop economic opportunities for those working in the arts.

How to make a submission on a publicly-notified Resource Consent
If you wish to make a submission on a resource consent application which has been publicly notified, read the requirements to submit a resource consent submission form.
How to make a submission on a consultation
While most Council consultations will have a specific form to use when making a submission, in most instances you may instead download the generic form with instructions (PDF @ 73KB) or use blank paper. Be sure to include:
- the name of the topic (usually a policy or bylaw)
- whether you wish to speak on your submission at a hearing (available in most consultations)
- whether, if others make a similar submission, you would be willing to present a joint case at a hearing
- whether you are supporting or opposing the topic (either wholly or in part)
- the nature of your submission
- your reasons
- what relief you are seeking
- and contact details.
