Penalty on Rates
Ratepayers who have not paid the 2nd instalment of their 2008/09 rates are reminded that the 10% penalty will be added to any amount of that instalment that is not paid on or before the 27 November 2008.
The Nelson City Council office is open until 5pm to accept payments, and also offers an after hours payment box located on the left side of the entrance to Civic House. Stoke and Tahunanui residents can lodge cheque payments in the drop box located in the Stoke and Nightingale Library.
Rates postponement scheme
Council is offers a Rates Postponement Scheme for older homeowners that lets you defer paying rates - for the rest of your life or until you sell your home.

GIS is a computer system that contains information
on geographic features, i.e. data identified according
to location.
Enter the Geographic Information System to display land boundaries, utility services, aerial photography, contours, road names and addresses, and other property-based data on maps.

The names of owners will no longer be provided unless
this is necessary to identify the property. If there
are any details which are incorrect you will need to
advise the Rates Office as soon as possible.
